The Head Registrar
Dr. Beatrice Langley Barton
Beatrice Langley Barton became the tenth University
Registrar in August 1999. She had served as Associate
Registrar at the University since 1990, and had
worked as Director of Registration from 1976 until
1982, when she became Registrar at the University
of North Cumberland.
Dr. Barton is a graduate of King's University
in Oxford with a major in English. Dr. Barton
holds the M.Ed. in Student Personnel Services
in Higher Education from Trinity and has completed
her Ph.D. in Business Structures.
As Canbourne entered the new millennium, Dr.
Barton strove to provide faculty and student customers
with meaningful, accurate, and "smarter" processes
that meet 21st century expectations. Under Dr.
Barton's leadership, the Office of the University
Registrar works closely with other units at the
University of Canbourne to identify shared goals
and objectives and achieve institute-wide excellence
in service, while maintaining the integrity of
the student record.
