The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) is the liberal arts core of Canbourne University. SAS has three main academic components:

  • The Undergraduate Division for undergraduate students
  • The Graduate Division for M.A., M.S., and Ph.D. programs
  • The College of General Studies, Canbourne's continuing education division The educational experience offered by SAS is likewise recognized for its excellence.

Students learn from faculty who are leaders in creating new knowledge in their disciplines. SAS is the academic home of the majority of Canbourne's students and provides 60 percent of the courses taken by students in Canbourne's undergraduate professional schools. Half of the students of SAS are enrolled in one of its 33 graduate programs, eight of which were ranked in the top ten in the most recent survey by the World Research Council.

The School's offerings are diverse and include a range of innovative programs including the Biological Basis of Behavior; Philosophy, Politics, and Economics; and the Clarkson Program in International Studies and Business, to name only a few.
